Couples and Engagements

A Summer Engagement Session in Columbia, Maryland

For this summer engagement session in Columbia, Maryland, we spent the evening wandering through tree-lined paths, open fields, and quiet pockets of greenery as the sun began to get lower.

We started beneath the trees before making our way into the open fields, letting the changing light and landscape shape the session as we went. With plenty of space to explore, the evening felt relaxed and playful, with a mix of intimate moments and movement throughout.

Engagement Photos in Columbia, Maryland

We began along the wooded trails, walking beneath the trees and stopping throughout the surrounding greenery.

The winding paths, wooden fences, and dense trees created a secluded setting for the beginning of the session. We spent this part of the evening walking, dancing, and exploring before gradually making our way toward the more open areas of the property.

As we moved out from beneath the trees, the light began to change and the session took on a softer, more romantic feel.

Golden Hour in the Fields

We eventually made our way into the open fields, where the last of the evening sun was filtering through the trees.

We spread out a blanket in the grass for a few slower moments before taking advantage of the open space around us. They danced, ran through the field, and wandered between the trees as the sun continued to drop.

The final stretch of the evening was filled with warm light, movement, and the kind of simple moments that make an engagement session feel less like a photoshoot and more like an evening spent together.

Maria and Ahshiyn’s session was one of those evenings that just kept getting better as the sun went down. We met at Station 18 on Sullivan’s Island, just outside of Charleston, South Carolina, and spent the evening wandering between the dunes, boardwalk, and beach, basically chasing the light until there wasn’t much left.
